These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Badland Blades website and any purchase of knives, blades, cutting tools, or related products from us. By browsing the site or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the store or place an order.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund & Return Policy, and Knife Purchase Liability & Legal Disclaimer. Information on this site is for general purposes only and is not legal advice.
Eligibility and age
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the minimum legal age required by your state or local jurisdiction, to purchase a knife or related product from Badland Blades. By placing an order you represent that you meet that requirement and that you are legally permitted to purchase, possess, receive, and own the product being ordered.
We may request information reasonably needed to verify age, identity, or the legality of a transaction. We reserve the right to refuse, delay, or cancel any order when those facts cannot be reasonably verified, or when a sale would appear to violate applicable law.
Products are tools and collectibles
Badland Blades products are sold as handcrafted cutting tools, outdoor and utility equipment, and collectible or display pieces, depending on the individual product. Listings describe materials, finish, and intended tool or collection use. We do not market products as weapons, tactical weapons, or self-defense weapons, and nothing on this site authorizes unlawful carry or use.
Knives are inherently sharp and potentially dangerous. You are responsible for lawful, careful possession, storage, transportation, maintenance, and use.
It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws that apply to you, including laws on purchase, possession, carry, blade length, design, transfer, and location of use. We do not represent that any particular product is legal to purchase, possess, carry, or receive in every jurisdiction.
No sales to minors. Anyone under 18, or under the higher legal age in their jurisdiction, may not purchase.
By completing checkout you confirm that the shipping address is a place where you may legally receive the product. We may refuse or cancel an order for an illegal destination, age concern, identity issue, or suspected fraud.
Where we will not sell
We do not knowingly sell or ship products where doing so would be illegal. We currently fulfill United States shipping addresses collected at checkout. If we believe an order cannot be completed lawfully — including restricted destinations, prohibited designs, or age issues — we may cancel it and refund amounts actually paid for that order.
This shop is operated for U.S. domestic retail. You are responsible for any export, re-export, or import rules that apply if you later take a product outside the United States. Do not purchase if you intend to export a product in violation of U.S. or foreign law. These Terms do not authorize international fulfillment.
Prohibited uses
You may not use Badland Blades products for unlawful purposes, or in a negligent, reckless, threatening, or intentionally harmful manner. You may not buy, request, or take delivery of a product if you are prohibited from possessing it.
You also may not misuse the website: scrape the catalog to harm the shop, attempt to access another customer’s orders, interfere with checkout or inventory, or use the site to commit fraud.
Orders, pricing, taxes, and payment
Product photos and descriptions are offered in good faith. Handmade items vary; see Handmade products below. We may correct pricing, inventory, or listing errors and cancel an affected order.
Prices are in U.S. dollars. Applicable taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. Badland Blades does not store full card numbers. An order is an offer to buy; we accept it when we confirm the order or begin fulfillment. Discount codes apply only when they are valid for the cart and dates shown.
Shipping, risk of loss, and undeliverable packages
Shipping is described in our Shipping Policy. You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate U.S. address where you may legally receive the product. Carriers may impose their own restrictions on knives and cutting tools.
Risk of loss passes to you when we deliver the package to the carrier, except where applicable law says otherwise. If a package is refused, undeliverable, or returned because of an address error or a destination we cannot serve, we may cancel the order, charge return shipping, or refund the product amount at our discretion after we receive the return.
Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund & Return Policy. Do not ship a blade back until the shop confirms the return. Used or mishandled cutting tools may be refused for hygiene and safety reasons. Custom or commissioned pieces are generally not returnable unless they arrive defective.
Handmade products
Many products are individually handcrafted or hand-finished. Minor variations in dimensions, grind lines, finishes, textures, handle materials, colors, patterns, and other cosmetic characteristics are normal. Natural materials and high-carbon steels require care. Unauthorized modification after purchase is your responsibility. These points are explained further in the Knife Purchase Liability & Legal Disclaimer.
Intellectual property
The Badland Blades name, logos, product photography, copy, and site design are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, scrape, or reuse them for commercial purposes without permission. Product designs remain our intellectual property; buying a knife does not transfer design rights.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Badland Blades and its owners, members, employees, representatives, and affiliates shall not be liable for injuries, damages, losses, claims, or expenses resulting from your or any third party’s misuse, negligent use, unlawful use, improper storage, unauthorized modification, improper maintenance, or use of a product contrary to its intended purpose.
We are also not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or from delay in fulfillment, except where such a limit is not allowed.
Nothing in these Terms or in the liability disclaimer is intended to waive, exclude, or limit any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold Badland Blades harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or your use or transfer of a product after delivery, except to the extent a claim is caused by our willful misconduct.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer-protection law in your place of residence requires otherwise. Courts located in New York shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or your order, except where applicable law requires a different venue.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The version on this page is current. Continued use of the site or completion of a purchase after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
